
Alex Schultz
Alex grew up in Lancaster before attending the University of Pittsburgh and then starting his career at KeyBanc Capital Markets in New York City. He spent 6 years as a member of the Financial Sponsors Group focused on M&A and capital raising transactions for private equity firms and their portfolio companies across a broad variety of industries.

Chasing a new challenge and operational experience Alex joined Jim at AES. He initially led a shift in Go-To-Market strategy following their transition to SaaS. He worked in close partnership with Jim to define priorities and built out systems that supported 4x growth in 6 years. Alex championed data driven decision making throughout the organization. As the finance leader he was primarily involved in managing day to day execution during the sale process and leading integration efforts for AES on behalf of the acquirer.

Austin Schultz
Austin is a Lancaster native who attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. After graduating, he was sent to Fort Riley, Kansas as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer. Austin worked extensively with the Secret Service, ATF, and FBI providing EOD support to domestic operations and projects across the country.
Austin was later selected as a logistics director of operations within the 7th Special Forces Group. He spent 3 years working within the special operations community providing logistics management and building strategic initiatives. His military leadership experiences and performance led to his selection as an assistant professor at Valley Forge Military College where he mentors and instructs cadets who aspire to leadership roles within the Armed Forces.

Jim Schultz
Jim founded Applied Educational Systems (AES), a developer of career and technical education curriculum systems for K-12 schools in 1987. He relocated the business from New Jersey to Lancaster in 1995 planting roots for his family. He led AES for 36 years, through a successful transition to a SaaS model and ultimately an acquisition by The Riverside Company, a global private equity firm. Under his leadership AES was recognized as one of the 50 Best Places to Work in PA, achieved the Inc. 5000 list for 5 consecutive years (2018-2022), and Jim received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce (2020).
Jim previously served as a Board Member of Cargas Systems (2009-2023) and remains actively involved in the local business community. He currently serves as a Vistage chair leading a CEO peer advisory group.
